Famille: Buthidae.

Origin: North Africa (Mauritania, Marocco...).

Size: 8 cm.

Sociability:  Not sociable, fast and very nervous.

Toxicity of venom: stage 4/4  (very dangerous).

Gestation: Of 4 to 6 months and until 70 pullus.

Conditions of maintenance

Temperature: 0f 68°F to 95°F. It's obvious that a good fall of T° the night is essential to the good maintenance of the specimen (50°F approximately). A diapause is recommended the winter from approximately 1 to 2 months

 Hygrometry: 30%, vaporize once a month.

Terrestrial terrarium: Of 30x20x25 with a susbtrat of approximately 5 cm in height equipped with a stone punt so that it can taken refuge there.

Substrate: Sand.

Food: Locusts, crickets and cockroaches of intermediate size. At a rate of a prey per week for a youthful specimen and a prey all 10 to 15 days for an adult.
