Euscorpius flavicaudis

Information

Family: Euscorpiidae.

Origin: Tunisie, Spain, Italia and untill south France.

Size: Of 3cm to 5cm female/ 3cm to 4cm male.

Sociability:  Calm, can live in group with many hiding-places.

Toxicity of venom: Stage 1/4  (Not dangerous).

Gestation: Of 11 to 12 months.

Conditions of maintenance

Temperature: Of 59°F to 77°F.

Hygrometry: Winter 80% and summer 50%.

Terrestrial terrarium: Of 40x30x30 is enough to raise a half-dozen of specimens (attention to the cannibalism). You will lay out of the stones punts the one on the others (silicone), with a feeding trough (not very deep to avoid the drownings). Of foam if possible, without forgetting a few pieces of wood “sterilized beforehand”.

Substrate: Blond peat.
